Online Wrestling Scoreboard with Live Broadcast

Wrestling 🤼 is one of the oldest sports in human history, depicted on cave paintings 15,000 years old and contested at the Ancient Olympics from 708 BC. Two opponents grapple on a circular mat, scoring points for takedowns, exposures and pushouts, with the option of an instant win by pinning the opponent's shoulders to the mat. This sport is governed internationally by United World Wrestling (UWW, formerly FILA). Greco-Roman has been part of every modern Olympics since 1896, freestyle joined in 1904, and women's freestyle was added in 2004. Learn about freestyle and Greco-Roman rules is in the Wikipedia wrestling article.

Wrestling Score Counter Setup

Wrestling is using the free online scoreboard with 3-minute countdown timer over 2 periods to match the international Olympic format used by United World Wrestling. The board tracks each wrestler's running point total and the current period. NCAA folkstyle uses 3 periods (3+2+2 minutes). Change the number of periods to 3 and adjust the duration if you are running collegiate matches. High-school folkstyle in the US runs 1:30 + 2:00 + 2:00, totalling 5:30.

Wrestling Styles

Freestyle - Olympic and World Championship style for both men and women. All takedowns and holds are legal, including leg attacks. A 10-point lead at any time wins the bout by technical superiority.
Greco-Roman - Olympic style for men only. Holds below the waist and active use of the legs are forbidden, putting the focus on throws, lifts and upper-body control. Technical superiority is awarded at an 8-point lead.
Folkstyle - The dominant collegiate and high-school style in the United States. Three periods, points awarded for riding time, and an emphasis on mat control rather than exposure.
Beach Wrestling - A standing-only variant on a 7-metre sand circle. A wrestler scores by taking the opponent down or pushing them out of the circle; first to 3 points wins the round.

Rules at a Glance

Pin (Fall) - Holding both of the opponent's shoulders to the mat for one second (Olympic) or two seconds (folkstyle) ends the bout immediately. A pin - sometimes called a fall or touch-fall - is the most decisive way to win at every level.
Point Values - Takedown 2 points (4 for grand-amplitude throws), exposure 2 or 4 points, escape 1, reversal 2, push-out 1 (freestyle), and penalty points awarded for stalling or illegal holds.
Technical Superiority - A 10-point lead in freestyle (8 in Greco-Roman) wins the bout immediately. In folkstyle, a 15-point lead is the equivalent technical fall.
Passivity & Stalling - Wrestlers who avoid engagement are warned, then placed in a 30-second activity period (par terre in Greco-Roman). Repeated stalling earns the opponent a point.

Run the Board From the Admin Preview

The admin page shows a live preview of the scoreboard with click controls baked into every active section, so a full game can be driven from the preview alone, without going back to the side panel.

Timer - Click the clock on the board to start or stop. The dedicated Start / Pause buttons in the side panel still work for the same actions.
Score - Left-click a team's score to add one. Right-click the same number to subtract one.
Period - Click the period indicator to advance to the next quarter, half or set.
Possession - Click the possession arrow to cycle between none, home and visitor.
Fouls and Timeouts - Left-click to add one, right-click to remove one.
Shot Clock - Left-click resets to the full duration (24 by default), right-click resets to the short value (14 by default).

Anything that reacts to a click turns the cursor into a pointer and brightens on hover, so the interactive zones are obvious without trial and error. Press the Full Screen button on the admin page to hide every panel except the board itself. A small floating toolbar stays pinned at the bottom of the screen with a fullscreen toggle marked F11, zoom out, a reset-zoom button showing the current percentage and the Ctrl -/+ hint, zoom in, and a close button. The same laptop now doubles as the venue display while the operator keeps driving the game through the preview clicks. The site logo at the top left always links back to the home page, so you can jump between match, tournament or standings tools without losing your place.

FAQ

Can I run NCAA folkstyle matches?

Yes. Switch from 2 periods to 3 (3 + 2 + 2 minutes for collegiate, 1:30 + 2:00 + 2:00 for high school) to match folkstyle rules.

Does the board call technical superiority?

No, the referee calls the bout. Watch for the 10-point lead in freestyle (8 in Greco-Roman) and stop the clock when it's declared.

Can I track penalty points and cautions?

Use the fouls counters for each wrestler to log cautions and stalling warnings. Add the resulting penalty points directly to the opposing wrestler's score.
